The Value of PCTM Membership

PCTM - Pasco Council of Teachers of Mathematics


The benefits of PCTM are numerous:
  • Cheap, cheap, cheap night out; get a full tummy, full tote bag, and a head full of new ideas
  • Get the inside track from DOE (Department Of Education), the county, and book publishers from Jill Nielsen
  • Gain strategies for effectively teaching math at elementary, middle and high school levels
  • Individual door prizes at every meeting
  • Network with colleagues
  • Additional LFS (Learning-Focused Solutions) strategies and lesson plans
  • Fun, food, and friendship
  • Meet the 2012-13 Individual Professional Development Plan requirement for Professional Development.

Tentative Meetings for this school year

Sep 25, Math Extravaganza – Vendors, free food, Come and go anytime between 3:30pm
 and 6:30pm at Land O’Lakes High School Culinary Institute
            Oct 10 Note taking and Interactive Notebooks  Chasco Middle
            Dec 10 Technology” I PADS  Gulf Highlands Elementary
            Feb 4 Common Core State Standards  Seven Springs Middle
            May 7 Banquet  Anthony’s (or possibly a different location)
Membership
The cost of membership is $5 a year individually or $4 per teacher when 3 or more teachers join together.
You can join either at the Math Extravaganza on September 25th.  If we have 3 or more teachers that want to join together and save BIG MONEY, then you can get the membership form at www.PascoCTM.wikispaces.com which is also the official website for PCTM.
